First stimulus payments have been processed.
The IRS has begun distributing electronic payments, and Clay County Bank has processed all stimulus payments that we will receive for the week ending April 17. Electronic payments will continue to be distributed in waves over the next several weeks, with paper checks scheduled to begin mailing on April 24.
To check your payment status and confirm your payment type, the IRS launched an online tool that enables consumers who have previously filed a tax return to check their status. Visit the IRS website and click “Get My Payment” to see the date your payment is scheduled to be deposited in your bank account or mailed to you.
There is also a tool on the IRS site for individuals who do not normally file a tax return, where you can provide payment information and set up to receive direct deposit of the stimulus payment.
Digital and telephone banking service issues
As millions of Americans anticipated the arrival of their stimulus payments, an unprecedented amount of traffic on the digital and telephone banking channels of many banks caused back-ups that may have resulted in longer wait times and service interruptions during peak hours. It is important to us that you can always access your account information anywhere at any time, and we apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.
